The booths will be limited to the stretch between Ketty’s Kitchen and Jimmy The Original Fat Boy on the Walter Nisbeth Rd. as part of a Christmas pilot program. Based on the outcome and public engagement, the Ministry will evaluate expansion for 2026 and beyond.

On World Diabetes Day, Aruba One Happy Island Lions Club, in collaboration with the POH (Primary Care Nurse Practitioners), delivered an educational and interactive session at St. Dominicus College. A large group of students participated and paid close attention throughout the presentation.

One of the most enjoyable parts was the Kahoot educational game, where students enthusiastically answered questions related to diabetes and healthy living. They demonstrated great knowledge and curiosity about the topic.

At the end, the students received an apple with the message:

“You are responsible for taking care of your own body! Eat fruit, drink water, move your body.”

They also received a leaflet with important information.

Op Wereld Diabetes Dag hebben Aruba One Happy Island Lions Club, in samenwerking met de POH (Praktijkondersteuners Huisartsenzorg), een educatieve en interactieve lezing verzorgd op St. Dominicus College. Een grote groep studenten nam deel en luisterde aandachtig naar alle informatie.

Een van de leukste onderdelen was het educatieve Kahoot-spel, waarin de leerlingen enthousiast vragen beantwoordden over diabetes en een gezonde levensstijl. Zij toonden veel kennis en nieuwsgierigheid over het onderwerp.

Aan het einde ontvingen de leerlingen een appel met de boodschap:

“Je moet zelf goed voor je lichaam zorgen! Eet fruit, drink water, beweeg je lichaam.”

Ook kregen de leerlingen een folder met belangrijke informatie.
